Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners are an innovative, nearly invisible way to straighten your teeth using a series of custom-made clear trays. These aligners gradually and gently shift your teeth into their ideal position without the use of traditional metal brackets or wires.

  • Clear aligners are a nearly invisible solution to orthodontic treatment, allowing you to straighten your teeth more discreetly.

    1. Discreet: Clear aligners are nearly invisible, allowing you to straighten your teeth without anyone noticing

    2. Convenience: Clear aligners are removable, allowing you to continue enjoying all the foods you love

    3. Fewer Appointments: Patients with clear aligners typically require fewer office visits than those with braces (usually every 8-12 weeks), making it a great option if you have a busy schedule.

    4. No Emergencies: With clear aligners, there are no emergencies like broken brackets or pokey wires

    5. Fully Customized: Each set of aligners is custom-made to fit your teeth perfectly and address your specific orthodontic concerns. This personalized approach ensures the best treatment to achieve your ideal smile.

    1. Digital Scan: Instead of goopy impressions, we take a detailed digital scan of your teeth

    2. Expert Planning: Using your scan, our orthodontist develops a customized treatment plan to achieve the desired results and your aligners are sent for printing

    3. Attachments and Delivery: Attachments are placed on your teeth and you’ll be given all the information you need to start your treatment

    4. Follow-Up: Aligners must be worn 22 hours a day and you’ll switch your aligner every 7-14 days. We will see you at our office every 8-12 weeks for follow-ups

  • In general, every patient is a candidate for clear aligners. Clear aligners have come a long way and nearly every orthodontic problem can be resolved with clear aligners.

Clear aligners are ideal for those looking to straighten their teeth more discreetly and are committed to the daily responsibility of aligners. Since aligners are removable, the results of treatment are compliance-based. Not wearing aligners can lead to delays in treatment and additional costs.

Braces

Braces are a reliable and efficient way of solving a variety of orthodontic issues. Brackets are used in conjunction with wires to gently guide your teeth in place. New technology has made brackets more comfortable with a special clip to engage the wire, making adjustment appointments quick and seamless.

  • At Inline Orthodontics, we proudly offer self-ligating braces - an innovative alternative to traditional braces that provides faster, more comfortable treatment. Self-ligating brackets eliminate the need for elastic ties, allowing the wire to move freely and reducing friction. This results in increased efficiency, minimal discomfort, and improved oral hygiene throughout your treatment.

    1. Advanced Technology: The design of self-ligating braces reduces friction and allows for more efficient tooth movement, making your treatment faster and more comfortable.

    2. Effective and Reliable: Braces are effective in handling complex alignment issues. They’re capable of treating the most challenging cases, ensuring you’ll have a smile that looks good and functions well

    3. Fewer Adjustments: The design of self-ligating braces means fewer visits to our office for adjustments.

    1. Digital Scan: Instead of goopy impressions, we take a digital scan of your teeth

    2. Expert Placement: We place the brackets on your teeth and place a wire through the brackets. The wire applies light, biologically sensible forces to guide your teeth into alignment. We’ll teach you how to brush, floss, and take care of your new braces

    3. Follow-Up: During your regularly scheduled visits, we will adjust the wire’s tension to keep your teeth moving toward the desired alignment efficiently.

  • Braces are ideal for moderate to complex cases as they provide superior strength and durability. Modern braces give orthodontists maximum control over tooth movement, which helps us create beautifully aligned smiles with precision.

Clear Braces

Clear braces offer a popular alternative to metal braces for those looking for a more discreet option without compromising the effectiveness of traditional brackets. Clear braces are ideal for those wanting a more esthetic option without the responsibility of clear aligners.

  • Clear Braces are made from ceramic materials which blend with your teeth to provide a less noticeable way of straightening your teeth.

    1. Esthetics: Clear braces are ideal for those wanting to straighten their teeth more discreetly without the daily responsibility of clear aligners

    2. Effectiveness: Ceramic braces function the same as their metal counterparts. They use brackets and wires to move your teeth into their ideal positions gradually

  • While clear braces are suitable for a wide range of patients, they are especially appealing to adults and older teens. Clear braces provide an orthodontic solution that doesn’t interfere with your professional or social life. It is important to note that although clear braces are durable, the ceramic material is slightly more prone to breakage than metal.

Airway

By guiding growth and positioning of the jaw, we help to improve airway flow and reduce symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea, chronic mouth breathing, and snoring. With techniques like palatal expansion, we create space for teeth and open up the upper airway for improved respiratory health.

  • We understand that the health of your smile is deeply connected to your airway, facial muscles, posture, and overall well-being. We’ve created a practice that blends advanced technology with supportive therapies to help our patients thrive, inside and out.

Nasal breathing keeps your jaw, tongue, and facial muscles in the right position to enable healthy growth. Mouth breathing, over time, can lead to dental crowding, dry mouth, and even changes in facial structure.

  • When airflow is restricted during sleep, it can cause snoring, restless nights, and sleep-disordered breathing. These issues often present as tiredness, irritability, or trouble focusing during the day, especially in kids.

  • With techniques like palatal expansion and jaw alignment, we create space for teeth to erupt naturally, as well as open up the upper airway for improved respiratory health.

Your airway health plays a critical role in how you sleep, breathe, and grow. Our practice specializes in airway-focused orthodontics that aims to optimize breathing function and support long-term health. Whether we’re treating a young child with early signs of mouth breathing or an adult struggling with sleep-disordered breathing, our diagnostic process goes far beyond a typical orthodontic evaluation.

Orthodontics for All Ages

Orthodontic treatment is not just for children and teens—it can benefit people of all ages. From guiding jaw growth in younger patients to aligning teeth for adults seeking a healthier, more confident smile, treatment options are tailored to each stage of life.

  • At Inline Orthodontics, we believe the foundation of a healthy, happy smile begins in childhood. By focusing on preventive care and early intervention, we aim to reduce future complications, promote better health, and set the foundation for a beautiful, healthy smile

Does my Child Require Early Treatment?
Each child is unique so it is best to have a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation. Many children will not require early treatment, for others, early intervention is an important part of their treatment plan.

    What is Phase 1 treatment?
Phase 1 treatment, also known as early interceptive treatment, usually begins between the ages of 6 and 10, before all the permanent teeth have come in. It is a preventive approach, designed to address developing dental concerns before they worsen. By evaluating your child’s bite and jaw alignment at an early age, we can intervene during a critical window of growth, reducing the need for more complicated treatment later in life.

Phase 1 treatment can also play an important role in improving airway and sleep, especially in children who show signs of sleep-disordered breathing like snoring, mouth breathing, or obstructive sleep apnea.

Early treatment may be necessary in the following situations:

    • Persistent thumbsucking or oral habits

    • Crossbites

    • Protruding teeth

    • Early or late loss of baby teeth

    • Crowded or blocked out teeth

    • Narrow or constricted jaw

  • The adolescent years (ages 12-15) are the most common time to start comprehensive orthodontic treatment. At this time, all of the permanent teeth have usually erupted, and orthodontic problems can be readily diagnosed and treated.

From metal braces to clear aligners, we offer a range of options that allow teens to have a comfortable orthodontic experience. Our treatments not only aim to improve smiles but to minimize disruptions to daily life, ensuring teens can continue to enjoy their activities without compromise.

We understand the importance of self-esteem during the teenage years. Our team is dedicated to providing teens with a supportive, positive environment where they feel valued and heard.

Signs that your teen can benefit from orthodontic treatment include:

    • Crowding or gaps between teeth

    • Early, late, or irregular loss of baby teeth

    • Teeth that meet abnormally or not at all

    • Underbites and overbites

    • Protrusion of teeth

Orthodontics is ideal during the teenage years because this stage of growth offers unique biological and practical advantages that make treatment more effective and efficient. During adolescence, the jaw and facial bones are still developing. As orthodontists, we can guide this growth to correct bite issues (such as overbites, underbites, or crossbites).

  • We understand that adult patients have unique concerns and needs. Our adult orthodontic treatments cater to your lifestyle and personal goals, whether you seek to enhance your smile, improve your oral health, or address orthodontic issues.

From enhancing your smile to improving how your bite functions, our goal is to create more than straight teeth—we craft beautiful smiles that elevate your appearance and confidence.

Benefits of orthodontic treatment in adults:

    • Allow access for improved oral hygiene

    • Improve overall function and health of the teeth and bite

    • Eliminate uneven wear of teeth

    • Create space for future bridges or implants

    • Improved esthetics and self-confidence

Surgical Orthodontics

For patients with severe bite issues, orthodontic treatment is done in conjunction with jaw surgery. We work closely with experienced oral surgeons to address functional issues like difficulty chewing, speech problems, and discomfort due to jaw misalignment.

  • Orthodontic treatment in conjunction with jaw surgery is typically recommended for patients with severe jaw misalignment, bite issues, or facial asymmetry that cannot be corrected with orthodontics alone. Surgery can address problems like difficulty chewing, chronic jaw pain, and speech impairments, while also enhancing facial harmony.

    Here’s how it works:

    1. Initial Consultation: At your consultation appointment, we will review your bite and underlying diagnosis. For severe cases, surgery may be presented as a treatment option in addition to non-surgical options, if available. If surgery is recommended, we will refer you to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for an initial consultation to get all the information you need

    2. Pre-Surgical Orthodontics: Braces or clear aligners are utilized to get your teeth in the ideal position for surgery

    3. Surgical Preparation: Once your teeth are in position for surgery, you’ll meet with the oral surgeon again for the final preparation and surgical planning.

    4. Surgery: Surgery will take place and the oral surgeon will put you on a soft-food diet and elastics, as prescribed.

    5. Post-Surgical Orthodontics: We will see you 6 weeks after your surgery to start stabilizing your bite in the new position. You can expect to be in orthodontic treatment for another 6-8 months following the surgery.

Retainers

Retainers are the most important step after orthodontic treatment. They are designed to keep teeth in their new, corrected positions. They help maintain the results of your investment by preventing teeth from shifting back.

  • Just like how our faces change with age, teeth constantly move throughout life.

As you approach the end of your treatment, we will discuss our retainer recommendations to keep your smile looking as good as it did the day you got your braces off.

For the first 3-6 months after treatment, removable retainers are worn full time (only removing to eat/drink and brush your teeth). After that, you’ll just wear it at night when you sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We encourage a braces-friendly diet that avoids overly hard or sticky foods to protect your braces. Our team at Inline Orthodontics offers guidance on maintaining your braces while enjoying a balanced diet.

  • It’s normal to experience some soreness or discomfort after getting braces or after an adjustment appointment, but this usually only lasts a few days and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers

  • You'll need to come in for check-ups every 8 to 12 weeks. These visits let us check how things are going and make any changes needed to keep your smile moving in the right direction.

  • Think of both methods as roads to the same destination—straight and healthy teeth. Braces use brackets and wires that stay fixed on your teeth 24/7. Clear aligners rely on a removable series of plastic trays that you swap out regularly.

Aligners simplify eating, brushing, and flossing and offer a nearly invisible look. Braces, alternatively, can tackle the most complex bite problems without relying on patient wear time.

  • Yes, clear aligners can be as effective as braces for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and bite issues. We use digital scans and treatment‑planning software to map every tooth movement, making your results predictable from day one

  • Clear (ceramic) braces offer a major advantage: they’re much less noticeable than metal braces.

The disadvantage to ceramic brackets is that they are more brittle than metal, so we ask patients to avoid very hard or sticky foods. Clear braces may also cost slightly more than metal braces.

  • Clear braces are the same as traditional braces but use clear or tooth-coloured brackets. They stay bonded to your teeth and a  metal wire gradually moves teeth into place.

Clear aligners are removable plastic trays that fit over the teeth. Aligners can work for mild to moderate cases, but clear braces are fixed in place and can support more complex movements. Clear aligners are great if you prefer a removable option, but clear braces often provide more controlled treatment.

  • Early treatment helps to guide jaw growth, correct oral habits, correct cross-bites and prevents more serious problems from developing and making any future treatment simpler and shorter.

  • When teeth and/or jaws are misaligned, it can result in uneven wear on tooth surfaces, difficulties in chewing or speaking, and increased strain on the supporting bone and gum tissues. If left unaddressed, these problems may require more extensive dental interventions as a person ages. Crowded teeth can also make brushing and flossing more difficult. Orthodontics involves more than straightening teeth - it establishes a foundation for the harmonious balance of teeth, jaws, and facial soft tissue.

  • The Canadian Association of Orthodontists and American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child should see an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. At this age, we can evaluate important dental features, such as alignment, bite issues, and jaw growth. If concerns arise, early treatment would be recommended at the consultation appointment. The ideal time to start treatment is reviewed, which can save families time and expense in the long run. This early treatment would take advantage of growth and prevents complications in the future. If no early treatment is needed, we will place your child on our complimentary growth monitoring program.

  • The cost of treatment depends on the complexity of your treatment. After the customized treatment plan is reviewed at your consultation, the fee is presented with options for flexible payment plans. We offer 0% interest payment plans.

  • Playing an instrument or a contact sport may require some adjustment when you first get your braces, but wearing braces will not stop you from participating in any of your activities. If you play a sport, it is recommended that you wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth.
